Attention is the beginning
Advertising can bring more people to an offer. If they cannot understand who it is for, what it solves or why it is worth considering, more traffic may simply repeat the same unresolved problem.
Look at the relationship between audience, message and offer before assuming the budget is the limiting factor.
Make a specific promise you can support
Positioning should help a potential customer recognize a relevant situation and understand your response to it. Broad language about quality, innovation or being the best can sound appealing without explaining much.
Describe the customer’s problem in language they recognize. Explain how the offer addresses it. Supply evidence that is accurate, relevant and proportionate to the claim.
Follow the message through the journey
Compare the advertisement with the landing page, inquiry process and follow-up. Does the promise stay consistent? Are important details easy to find? Do customers encounter an unexpected condition after they click?
Review customer questions and objections alongside campaign results. Then test a clearer message or a more relevant audience with a defined learning goal before committing to a larger spend.
A question to take back to work
Could a new customer explain who your offer is for and why it matters after a few seconds?
